Rome · VFX and digital production
The set wraps, the film carries on. Right here !
The studio
On-set supervision, compositing, 3D. And tools we build ourselves.
Digimax is a Rome-based visual effects and digital production studio. We work with Italian and international productions from prep through delivery: the ones who call us during prep spend less in post, and they know it.
Four lines of work, one technical department: film and TV, institutional communication for aerospace and defence, festivals and events, digital and interactive development.

THE GOOD MOTHERS
The prop phone
the video village drives.
Calls, messages, notifications and maps change live from the video village while the camera rolls. No brands to clear, no screen left to post.
01 — VFX & Post
Effects no one is meant to notice.
We work on features and series from prep to delivery. The part that matters starts on set: supervision done properly saves many weeks of post.
Nuke pipeline, deliveries compliant with platform standards, and the ability to scale the department through production peaks without changing your contact.
Services
On set
Supervision, previz, data and HDRI acquisition, tracking markers, shot-by-shot feasibility checks.
In post
Compositing, roto, matte painting, set extension, clean-up, skies and atmospherics, de-aging, simulations.
Delivery
Conform, international versioning, titles and idents, mastering to the client's specifications.
Work
02 — Video production
Explaining complicated things
to people who don't know them.
We produce institutional films for aerospace, defence and research clients: sectors where the content is technical, the constraints are serious and the deadline does not move.
Our advantage is having the VFX department in house: a 3D animation that explains a system costs like one film, not two.
Services
Institutional
Corporate films, short documentaries, content for trade shows and conferences, product films.
Technical animation
3D of systems, cutaways, simulations and reconstructions: when the thing to show cannot be filmed.
Commercials and trailers
Shooting, editing, grading, sound and versioning for each platform.
03 — Events & Festivals
A festival's image
is the festival.
We build the visual identity of international film festivals and carry it everywhere: idents, titles, print, signage, venue and red-carpet staging.
One supplier from graphics to physical staging: fewer hand-offs, fewer approximations, and the same image from poster to stage.
Services
Visual identity
Idents, titles, posters, communication material, signage.
Staging
Venues, red carpet, guest areas: design and build.
Videomapping
Architectural projection and content for large surfaces.
04 — Digital
Software built by people
who work on set.
We build sites, platforms and custom tools. The difference is the point of view: we know how a production works, so we build things that survive real use, not just the demo.
PhoneProp started exactly that way: from an on-set problem no product on the market solved.
Services
Sites and platforms
Institutional sites, festival platforms, archives and catalogues, private areas.
Custom tools
Production apps and utilities, pipeline automation, on-set tools such as PhoneProp.
Interactive and VR
Installations for exhibitions and museums, virtual reality, videomapping, event experiences.
On-set tool · Digimax
PhoneProp
A brand-free prop phone, driven live from the video village. Calls, messages, notifications and maps change while the camera rolls — without stopping the take.
It runs on a local WiFi network, with no internet, and keeps going on its own if the link drops.
Why it matters
The take doesn't stop
The notification lands when it should, not when an assistant manages to tap the screen. The director changes the scenario between takes, or inside one.
No brands to clear
Original interface, open-data maps, no logos. Legal has nothing to approve.
The light is real
The screen actually lights the actor's face, and the actor holds something alive. One less line on the post list.
How it works
Two devices, one network, no outside dependency.
The prop phone and the director's console talk to each other over a dedicated WiFi network we bring. From the console you pick the scenario, place the call, write the message, start the video, move the map. The phone responds in real time.
Scenarios are prepared in advance from the script: contacts, conversations, routes, content. On set you recall them with one tap.

The studio
One team,
four crafts.
Digimax is a cooperative based in Rome. We do visual effects and post for film and television, video production, festival identity and staging, and digital development. All four sit in the same place — which is why certain jobs work out.
Being a cooperative means the people who work here decide how the work is done. We apply the Italian entertainment-industry collective agreement.
How we work
Early, not late
We come in during prep, not after picture lock. That's where the cost of post is decided.
One contact
One person follows the project from start to delivery. You never explain the same thing twice.
Quote in 48 hours
If you have a shot list, the answer comes within two working days.

Privacy notice
Privacy and cookies
This site exists to show our work, not to collect data about the people who look at it. There are no profiling cookies, no advertising and no analytics. Below is a plain account of the handful of things that do happen.
Last updated: 27 September 2026
Who is responsible
The data controller is Digimax Soc. Coop., Viale Pinturicchio 84, 00196 Rome, Italy. For anything concerning this notice or your data: info@digimaxfilm.com, or +39 06 84384052.
VAT number: to be added. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we are not required to: write to the address above and you will reach us directly.
What data, and why
Browsing data. Like any website, the server hosting it records the requests it receives: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type, any errors. This keeps the site running and secure, and is the starting point whenever something breaks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our hosting provider keeps these logs for as long as technically necessary, and we do not use them to identify anyone.
What you send us. If you email or call us, we process what you tell us — name, contact details, the content of your message — to reply and, if work follows, to carry it out. Legal basis: responding to your request and pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b)), together with our legitimate interest in managing professional relationships.
Your choice about external video. It stays in your browser, on your device. It never reaches us and we cannot see it.
If you download the PhoneProp suite
To download the suite we ask for name, production or studio, and email; role, phone and a couple of lines about the project are optional and only help us know who we are talking to.
We use that data for two things: sending you the links and telling you when a new version is out, or when we find a problem affecting the work you are doing. Legal basis: your consent, which you tick before sending (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and can withdraw at any time by writing to phoneprop@digimaxfilm.com.
Where it goes: into a log on our own server, not reachable from the internet, and into an email to the studio. We pass it to nobody, use it for no advertising, and put it in no marketing platform. We keep it as long as it makes sense for PhoneProp support; ask to be removed and we remove you, full stop.
The form also records the sender's IP address: it is there to stop the automated scripts that fill in forms, and it is deleted along with the rest.
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no cookies of its own — no technical, statistical or profiling cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no measurement tool of any kind.
The only thing we write to your device is one entry in your browser's local storage, called `digimax-consenso`, remembering whether you accepted or refused external video. Its only purpose is to avoid asking again on every page, which is why the law does not require consent to store it. It stays until you clear your browser data, and you can remove it at any time through "Manage your choice" at the foot of the page.
If you do accept external video, cookies will then arrive — Vimeo's or YouTube's. See the next section.
Vimeo and YouTube video
Some of the videos on this site may be hosted on Vimeo or YouTube. Loading them means connecting your browser to their servers, which receive your IP address and may set their own cookies, including profiling cookies if you are signed in.
So we do not load them until you tell us to: until then you see the still frame instead. On your first visit we ask once, and refusing is exactly as easy as accepting. If you refuse, the whole site still works — the videos simply stay as photographs.
Once you accept, the processing is Vimeo's or Google's, under their own notices: vimeo.com/privacy and policies.google.com/privacy. You can change your mind at any time through "Manage your choice" at the foot of every page.
Typefaces
The typefaces used on this site are served by Google Fonts. To deliver them, Google receives the IP address of the visitor. This happens before any choice is made, because without the fonts the site would not be readable, and no cookies are involved — only the request for the file.
We are moving the fonts onto our own server so that this request disappears too. Once that is done, this section will no longer be needed.
Who else sees the data
Our hosting provider, Netsons S.r.l., which keeps the site on its servers and acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR.
Vimeo and Google, only if you accepted external video, and only for that.
Nobody else. We do not sell data, do not trade it, do not pass it to advertisers, and carry out no profiling or automated decision-making of any kind.
Outside the European Union
Data stays in Europe, with one exception: if you accept external video, Vimeo and Google may also process it in the United States. Both state that they do so under the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
If you are writing to us from outside the European Union: we apply the same standard to everyone, and that standard is the European one. Visitors in the United Kingdom or Switzerland have the same rights listed below, under the UK GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. For visitors in California: we do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines it, and never have.
How long we keep it
We keep the messages you send us for the duration of the relationship, and then for the periods required by civil and tax law. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for as long as technically necessary for security and diagnostics. What is no longer needed is deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access your data, to correct it, to erase it, to restrict its use, to receive it in a readable format so you can take it elsewhere, and you can object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interest (Arts. 15-22 GDPR). Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it whenever you like, without affecting what was done before.
Just write to info@digimaxfilm.com. We reply within a month; if a request is complicated we will say so and take the time the law allows.
If you think we have got something wrong, you can complain to the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or to the authority in the country where you live. We would rather hear from you first, but it is your right and you do not need our permission.
Children
This site is aimed at professionals and companies, not at children, and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under fourteen. If you believe otherwise, write to us and we will delete it at once.
If anything changes
If the way we handle data changes, this page changes too, and so does the date at the top. If a change is a substantial one, we will ask for your consent again rather than assume it.
This site uses no profiling cookies and collects no analytics. Only the videos hosted on Vimeo and YouTube, where present, connect your browser to their servers: we load them only if you say so.
